Adjudication Definition
Adjudication: A statutory dispute resolution method. The Construction Act (Part II of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996) allows any party to a building contract, subcontract or appointment to refer a dispute to an adjudicator, who must then be appointed within seven days and must reach his decision within a further 28 days. The adjudicator's decision is binding unless and until the dispute is resolved by a judge or arbitrator.
